Scottish Ringing Stone

An old photograph of The Ringing Stone, Isle of Tiree, Scotland. The Ringing Stone has been decorated by dozens of cup markings. These have religious significance dating back 4000 years but the precise purpose and meaning is unknown. When hit with another stone, The Ringing Stone clangs like a large piece of iron. Legend has it that should the boulder ever be broken then Tiree will sink beneath the waves.
